This is not for painting things that are gold or bright silver and look like mottled dirt on cream or white. You'll have to get up close to see how it shines when layered over bright, bold colors, because from a distance it looks slightly like a scratch on the surface. But when you apply this to a piece of pewter or really antique silver or paint of a similar shade, it's AMAZING. I can't stop looking at the magical transformation it offers to the glitter paint covering it. (Apparently I bought the antique silver color). So match the color of the glitter to the same shade you will be using as the base and I recommend it! I will buy a set of flowers. I'm incredibly impressed. The shine is very fine and evenly distributed. I only added a second layer because I wanted a shine.
