Bought for my son as a gift, he really likes it. He grills a lot and uses a kitchen thermometer. It worked well most of the time, as long as you don't mind your hand getting a little warm, and the probe wasn't always long enough to reach the center of a roast or other large cut of meat. With this fork, the probes are long enough to reach the center of the thickest meat he's ever cooked. I was concerned it would be too fragile to use as a real fork, but it's quite strong and can lift most meats with ease. Pretty accurate too! A couple of times when he would long cook a large roast we were sure the meat should be done, even though the fork said it wasn't. Both times we took the meat, let it rest and cut it, and the fork was of course right. Works well with thinner meats like chicken breasts or steaks, but works really well with thicker meats that you just can't tell when it's done. You can also use meat and casseroles in the oven, but you'll probably have to take the dish out of the oven to check this, as it's a fairly long fork that's likely to be difficult to use unless you have wall mount ovens. Definitive. well worth the money and makes a great gift for your favorite grillers!
