First, let me clarify my "low" ratings for ease of use and light weight. These are both GOOD news! It is not easy to put or move on the roof due to the weight, but it makes it much more stable during use. I am 69 years old and used this with a 4 foot ladder to rebuild a wall over a steep 8/12 pitched roof. I wore a harness and leash but they were never used as the Pivit tool was stable and didn't move while standing on the ladder even when hammering nails. Ribbed rubber pads on all corners provided excellent slip resistance, which was even better when I had my weight on it. I should mention that my shingles is brand new, so I can't speak to its effectiveness on old shingles. At first I thought the price was a little steep, but I think their product liability insurance premiums should be through the roof, no pun intended! And it probably saved me several thousand dollars too compared to hiring a contractor to do the same work.
