In addition to the 2Tb SSD already in place, I needed a drive to store files (samples and libraries for vsti). Mini-ITX system unit, low noise level. As a result, a 4Tb SSD was likewise highly desirable, but you could purchase four such HDDs for the same price. Consequently, I opted to test out a hard disk drive (HDD) first, and I chose a Seagate ST4000DM004 with two 2Tb pancakes inside because it seemed to best fit my needs (quick data reading and relatively quiet operation). The disc is manufactured using SMR technology, which has the characteristics that slow down the write speed, although this makes no difference when storing data. In the end, everything lived up to my hopes: it is quiet, fast at reading data, and doesn't cost a fortune.
