The Garmin GPS12 is a very reliable and durable device, perfect for those who don't need maps, a color screen or download capabilities. Its features are easy to understand and use. And after 5 years of use mainly on a boat I can say first hand that it is extremely well built and durable. Although this device was once classified as a wearable device, it is now an outdated technology and has some disadvantages compared to newer models. Its battery consumption is just terrible - it drains the batteries very quickly with constant use. It's also relatively slow to lock onto satellites if you've moved 50 miles or more since you last turned it on. You also need to be stopped (or close to it) for it to lock onto the satellites. It's also slow to update your position compared to newer devices - not ideal for quick navigation. High bucks for features you'll probably never use, this is a very well made device at a reasonable price.
