Full disclosure, the first card they sent me was DOA. I contacted Revain who referred me to the seller and they were very happy to help and sent me a new card without even asking me to return the dead card. This is how you win customers and get good reviews in case of problems. So the card itself looks nice and solid, no junk. Nice big heatsink on top of the cpu which leads me to believe it will have a nice long life. Installation, as always, is simple, the map is standard, nothing special to say. Well, performance. I have this on an Ubuntu 17.04 server that is a Plex Media Transcoder slave so I configured them with BalanceXOR as my ghetto switch doesn't support 802.3ad so balance it. Setup went great and I show them a load balancer running full 1GB links. Response time, as well as the excess bandwidth on my single 1Gb connection, slightly doubled (or more) the bandwidth and dropped the response time by a solid 1ms. To be honest I didn't think I would see such a dramatic increase in performance with something like Xcoding video, but yes it does. As a side note, Ubuntu 17.04 recognized them right away and there was no need to download additional drivers or anything special. . Just add them and paste them into interfaces.
