With two cats and a smoker living in my house, odor was a problem, a big problem. I hate aerosol air fresheners because I know the particles are bad and frankly only temporarily mask odors. It's the other way around. You simply remove the top sticker and place it in a central spot (we have it on a bookshelf in our living room) - you will immediately enjoy the light scent of clean laundry and over time find that the odors are gone, GONE! Success in our living room prompted us to purchase one for our bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. Now it is one of my most important household items. Highly recommended!
