Fits perfectly in Toyota license plate light hole. Wiring depends on your car, but can take hours depending on how much crap you have to remove and the fuss of catching the wire. Instructions are minimal but there are videos on YouTube. I recommend plugging it directly into a 12V source and a main unit before installing to ensure it works. Low-light visibility is also decent. The camera has a built-in overlay with familiar lines showing where you're going. Obviously these lines don't move when you turn as that would require steering wheel controls. If your head unit ALSO has wires for the rear view camera input, you will need to disable them. My only complaint is that the angle the camera is pointing at isn't adjustable, and on my car it's pointing too far down at the ground, so I don't have enough clearance. I'll try to fix this by putting a washer under one side of the assembly to rotate the camera lens up. It would be nice if the lens had an adjustment option. You should replace your other license plate lamp with an LED wedge lamp as the colors will not match. That's a few dollars more. If you install the camera on the left side, the light of the LED lamp will be slightly blocked by the camera mount. Not to the point where the cops get in trouble, but if it bothers you, install it on the right. You need to run the wiring further.
