Immediately after unpacking, I was pleased with the appearance of the product. I plugged it straight into the back of the Xbox One and left it on the console. I placed both batteries in the charger and they snapped easily into place, even without the controller weighing them down and holding them in place. The initial charge was surprisingly short and I didn't check what state of charge they had right out of the box; I just assumed they were completely empty. After about half an hour of the initial charge I replaced one of these with my controller instead of the AA it had and hid the stock battery cover. Then I played maybe 3 hours and my controller still had over half of its battery life. The battery is easy to replace and has a long service life. The light at the base is on 24 hours a day, seven days a week, but it doesn't bother or distract. I can see them from my bed at night and they are very thin and don't light up the room.
