This antenna was purchased to upgrade my Yaesu VX-3R which is already a fairly weak radio. It was a challenge to get to some of the repeaters that I like to use. The short antenna that came in the box didn't help much. I got this antenna to improve things and the improvement has been remarkable. I was able to turn off the repeaters completely and could now hear more than before. The "foldable" nature of the antenna means that it can bend and fold as needed without experiencing deformation in use. Overall, this is a great option for productivity.
