This shovel changed my life. Not only does it save me from squats, it also means I don't have to inhale cat litter dust anymore. It's so fast and comfortable, I can't believe I've struggled with small buckets my entire life. I'm 5ft 6in and I can put my hand on the handle while standing upright. I bend in the waist slightly when I use it, but it works so quickly I hardly notice it. This scoop has wider slots, and the scoop itself is so big that I don't see the accumulation of clods that used to make sifting such a chore. Loose bedding is ejected almost instantly, eliminating the time to sift and clump. Now the smell is even less because the litter stays cleaner. The 90 degree blade makes it look more like a rake than a shovel. It takes some getting used to scratching, but it's really easy. Raking most of the box is very easy. Sometimes dirt sticks to the floor, which takes a little more work. I've found that if I don't overfill the box with trash, I can scrape the bottom and remove clumps from the corners more easily. still a slight breeze and a lot easier than crouching and sifting through the dust and breathing until I felt like I was about to pass out. They say it would be better if it was slanted. It led me to this one and I chose this one because it stands on its own. I love that I can go and grab it and pick it up without having to bend down to get it. I also think this shovel is less likely to break. I think the angled design avoids applying pressure causing the shovel to detach from the handle, and yet the shovel feels very solid. This is a great product, especially considering the cost. I would highly recommend and would buy it again.
