UPDATE: We've had this phone for 7 years now and we really hate it. Some of the following items have been fixed, but most have not. NO FAST FINGER set. Each key has to be pressed very hard. It's also very problematic. The main thing is that it constantly puts down the time and date. You might think it doesn't matter much, but you can't dial a number if the time and date aren't set. And he accidentally loses the time and date. Sometimes several times a day. It has nothing to do with power. It's on a UPS with battery backup and it's still losing the time and date. AT&T says they've extended the warranty on this phone to 2 years, which is good, but you'll have to send it back for a replacement. We bought 2 repeaters, 2 handsets and a headset. The auto attendant is great once we figure out how to set it up. But the reliability of this phone and its functionality are poor. Also the image they show on Revain for this phone is not true. They show a white, inexpensive phone. This phone is black and silver and looks very different. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We bought this phone for its auto attendant and "extended range" features. So here are some of the problems. We bought it because of the auto attendant. It has up to 5 ads, but to "sell press one, for service press two, for return press three etc." you really need to have a phone for each of them. You cannot use the 5 announcements integrated in the base to "transfer" a call to this announcement. You can just send it to the handset which will then ring and if there is no answer the recorded message will be played. The next step is deleting messages. As far as I can tell you have to listen to the message in full to delete it. Pressing delete while posting doesn't seem to have any effect. A bit annoying, especially with long messages that you have already listened to. Key: Wow, they are very small. The "soft" keys are recessed and sometimes difficult to press. You have to press hard on each button. Fast fingers are forbidden. Backlight: Turns off too early. (about 3 seconds). I can't find a way to keep it installed longer. Menu/Enter issue: When you change a setting, you must press the Menu/Enter button to save it. Otherwise your changes will be ignored. They don't tell you anything about it over the phone. End a call to move to the next: Usually you just press the next line number and expect him to hang up first. But that's not the case. That stops the first. I understand how helpful this can be, but I'd rather just hang up. It would be better to adjust the switch of this function. Caller ID: Flashes for missed calls. Pretty annoying. I don't need to blink it to let me know I missed a call. Autoscroll: Automatic scrolling in a directory differs from most phones. On most phones (and the menu on this phone) it automatically moves to the top of the list when you scroll down. But in the catalog, when you get to the bottom, it just squeaks at you. And you can't "go back" in your directory. That said, on most phones, if you know a person is at the bottom of your directory (like the name Wayne), just scroll with the up arrow and it goes down and up. This is not possible with this phone. You have to start at the top and go all the way down. I don't think it's wise. Speakerphone: This is good, but ANY noise on your side will drown out the other side. So you can't walk around with your phone in your hand or on your belt and use hands-free calling, you won't hear the other side. Still studying the phone. It's not the easiest phone to use. Note. We come from Durafon. Incredible range, almost no features. It should become the range champion in the domestic US phone market. With antenna out on the phone more than a mile. This ATT Dect 6 no repeater phone works at a maximum distance of about 100 feet. With 1 repeater it will travel another 100 feet depending on where the base is, where the repeater is located and what buildings are in between. Call clarity is pretty good as long as you're within range of the repeater. To travel 200 feet in each direction from the base, you need 4 repeaters to cover that area. (It's basically a 400ft diameter circle with a base in the center and 4 repeaters 100ft north, south, east and west of the base. You get the idea.) Durafon costs $500. This base station, 4 repeaters and a handset cost about $700.) Durafon doesn't have an auto attendant, no answering machine, very short phone book, no clock, etc. So if you want incredible range then Durafon is better. But if your range is 100-200 feet with repeaters and you need an auto attendant and other features, this is your phone if you can overcome this phone's other drawbacks.
