I really wanted this to work so I didn't have to provide my own solution, but it's just not a reliable product. As clearly shown and described, the RJ45 and USB (for power) are hardwired to the unit. So if you can't put it close to a power source and the device you want to connect isn't ideal - I used an ethernet port and a USB extension cord to get it where I should have put it. Nothing bad, but something different. In terms of functionality, I needed a simple bridge to connect the wired device I had to my WiFi network. This product worked, but the WebUI (which is the only user interface besides the reset button and 3 LEDs) is poorly coded and not intuitive. To become a bridge, select the "Bridge + Repeaterβ mode, turn off an unused radio (for example, if you connect on 5 GHz, turn off the radio on 2.4 GHz), turn on the internal DHCP server off and switch (re)transmission of the SSID. It took me some trial and error to get the configuration right, but in the end it was what I wanted. After a few weeks of work I wanted to change the configuration (technically I wanted to see if I could disable the LEDs). , as constant random blinking wasn't optimal for my setup). I found that logging into the WebUI took me to "Check for new hotspots". Page and then quickly locked the device, requiring it to be turned off to get it working again. Fun. After recreating this 100%, I decided to do a factory reset (although the manual says caution - it looks like there is only one flash partition on this device). The reset worked up to the point where the configuration I specified was lost and acted as a hotspot for the factory default SSIDs, but the web interface was now completely dead (and the DHCP server didn't come back up, and it didn't seem to either not to be like listening to every IP address). In short, my experience was a semi-disappointing setup experience and then a product that became either a single configuration or a brick after 2 weeks with no response from Vonets tech support. I cannot recommend this product.
