OK. The tool isn't professional, but it works.

I've used it several times. One to place a mounting point on the ceiling of my garage for a kayak lift and several others for various wall mounts. It works much better on vertical walls than ceilings. It takes a little time to understand this and get the depth right. Received multiple false statements. As little as I will use it and for $35 it will get the job done.
