This unit is well made for the price and does the job of servicing a humidifier but there are 2 issues and one of them is a deal breaker. First, the humidity sensor drifts wildly and needs a positive 11% calibration to read it accurately, which isn't a huge problem as it's easily calibrated for an accurate reading. However, the device does not retain any of these settings after it is turned off. So if there's a power outage, your calibration goes down the toilet and then the device reads 10 to 11 percent less than it should, causing the device to just stay on forever trying to meet unrealistic power demands. . That's probably why so many people complain about the device being on all the time. This defeats the purpose for which the device was built and makes it unreliable.
