Looking through other bartender sets available, I noticed that none felt quite as full: some gave up others forgoing the bar spoon (either they have spoons with no functional end or those awful unwrapped spoons that are awkward to use). Some of them oddly only have one jigger, which can lead to a lot of conversion or guesswork if the cocktail calls for a measurement your jigger doesn't have. This set has almost everything you need for a home bar. The shaker is solidly made, I had no problems with leaking. Its large capacity and wide mouth make it easy to clean - I've had issues with other shakers, especially store-bought ones, which due to their size (I don't even have big hands) were difficult to clean. Two jiggers fit almost any cocktail size. The pestle has a textured, serrated silicone head that squeezes fruit juice well and squishes berries. I love the flat design of both the corkscrew and the bottle opener. The selection is a nice touch for those who want to add a little pizzazz to their presentation. The mixing spoon is well balanced and easy to use, and as a bonus, its flat, disc-shaped end can be used as kindling for herbs. The only thing missing is a fine strainer - the included Hawthorne strainer and the built-in martini strainer in the shaker. The top will do its job and prevent tangled bits of fruit, berries or ice from getting in, but lemon or orange pulp and small seeds can still get in. For those like me who like to experiment with mixed fruit drinks and don't want to have kiwi or strawberry pits in their teeth, a fine mesh strainer is the perfect complement to this bar set (I use a 3-inch RSVP Endurance cone strainer). Overall I am very happy with this set, high quality and good functionality, perfect for a home bar and the container it comes in makes a stylish gift.
