Great box :)

This review is dedicated to CARNIS hollow walnut box. Another person also used one of these incense boxes but received a smaller one. I was looking for a cheap box to store my individual incense boxes (1 of 6 boxes in a large 120 incense box, see pictures for clarity). I guessed the size but wanted a box this size, my regular incense sticks couldn't possibly be longer than a foot. I made the right call. Currently (I took a few for one of my photos to show you the depth of the box, for example Midnight and Nag Champa have another box underneath) I have 5 HEM brand hexagonal boxes, 1 Anand Ganesh Special (good incense from by the way!) 13 packs of Satya Γ  15 g and Zippo. I could easily place 5 more Zippos in a row as you can see in my drawing, they just need to lay flat. Now to the quality of the box itself. For the price, of course, I really like it. It just needs sanding, painting and a little TLC and it will make a great wooden box! I saw a review saying be careful with water based products, I'll keep that in mind; Gratitude! It also closes well. The only thing that doesn't really interest me yet are the hinges. The fact that it lays completely open on its own seems too heavy to me, so if I were you I'd open it with just one hand and hold it at a 90-degree angle so the hinges last longer. It will probably be easy to fit new ones in if/when they go, no big deal. Oh, and I'll probably add a little zipper in the front to make it look more "stylish" lol. I can also use a wood stove. I'll update my post with photos once it's done! Out of all 4/5 stars I took one star for the heavy aspect of the hinge/top. BUT THIS IS A GREAT BOX FOR THE PRICE; I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! - * To update. I added what is called "HASP". That keeps the box closed and also looks nice, at least I think so. They have brass and silver metal colored ones. I took one along with 220 grit sandpaper (IF THE GRINDER GOES WITH WOOD FIBER!) for about $6 each. I sanded this box for at least a good half hour and it's pretty smooth. I want to try a harder grit on top to make it really smooth; The sides are smooth, just how I want it. I know it's almost half the price of the box but after all it looks really good. I still plan on using an oil stain and clear coat at some point. If you do it too and have money; Do this first so you don't have to worry about the hasp getting in the way.

Pros
  • Woodwork
Cons
  • Money box price
