When I bought this lock I thought it was one of the best U-locks on the market. Turns out it's a slightly different Abus that doesn't appear on Revain. Spring. However, WAAAAY is better than a cable lock. So far there have been no thefts so I cannot personally confirm the security of the lock. But when it comes to ergonomics, I can say: a BIG thing. This makes it useful for locking your bike on non-ideal designs (the extra U reach is useful). But that complicates the installation. Trying to install it in the middle triangle will rule out the possibility of even installing a bottle cage. There are several ways to mount it sideways on the seatpost parallel to the bike, but they got in the way of my rear child seat. I installed it in the back seat and it seems to work fine there. That being said, the mount that comes with the lock is MUCH better than the mount that came with the other U-lock I bought. This gives you more flexibility in mounting options. Yes, this thing is heavy. But I don't notice it, and neither do you, unless you're a professional racer.
