Review on 🌟 White Spellbinders Platinum PL-001 Cut and Emboss Machine by Carrie Spencer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is a great machine! I am very happy!

Update from 18.12. The company kindly sent me the large inserts for free when I called them about the inserts. They told me that the machines are currently being sold with larger cutting inserts. Amazing customer service. Very nice people I spoke to and they helped me a lot. It was worth every dollar I paid. I still love this car after more than a year. The reason I bought this machine is because I have a Sizzix Bigkick and a Sizzix Big Shot Pro, but it weighs 45 pounds and I don't move it from my work area (aka my enclosed porch). When I have to carve a lot of the same thing for my small business in the middle of winter, I usually can't be on the porch for hours because it's basically like being outside. I need extra room on the sides of the machine for the fabric to rest on. This machine cuts Sizzix Bigz dies, I wanted to mention it because I personally feel these other reviews on here have been extremely unhelpful in this regard (which the machine actually does)! It's a lot slimmer than my Bigkick, and I love how it folds down into a neat box rather than the Bigkick, which is always just open and working, but it has a small cutting mouth and an odd shape - especially in comparison to this. . I didn't need this machine to be honest, but I really wanted the big bump from the Sizzix Plus, and it was twice the price of this Spellbinders Platinum. This company makes a great product and I actually called Spellbinders shortly before buying this machine to ask them personally if this machine would accept Sizzix Bigz dies. The lady told me yes, although they do encourage customers to buy Spellbinders matrices. Let me just say I REALLY like their dies, but I make fabric and make a ton of stuff, I need Spellbinder's Quilter dies! Please! I would like to buy them from you too, but I need exactly these stamps. A 6.5 inch square would be a great option as this machine has 8.5 inch capabilities. But at the moment there are NO Spellbinder square steel bar punches. I should also add that I have plus stamps for Big Shot Plus as I have a Big Shot Pro Sizzix machine. For those of you wondering if those plus dies will work in this machine, they fit, but they're tight. Like the Spellbinders Large Contour, the steel rulers should be slightly smaller, I mean 1/8 inch less in width. Because my plus fits, but I don't think I'll run them again because it was too tight to fit in there. I actually got this machine hoping it would work with these Sizzix Plus dies as I am desperate for new 6.5" square dies but I am just very impressed with how perfectly they match the Bigz Die rolls that I have and I really like some of their styles. I hope they put out a nice set of quilting/fabric dies for us fabric makers because it opens them up to a whole new group of customers and it's just really useful to be able to cut basic shapes, that's all I use. .I was a little disappointed with the small 6 inch tablets but not enough to complain like others and give bad reviews. My approach is to call the company and ask if they can help me with this because I think they solve this problem now with these machines, they should send you a new set of large plates that fit the car properly. My big pro came with 14β€³ x 26β€³ platters or whatever, so I think each machine should be the right width, but hey, what are you going to do. Based on my research, Spellbinders is practically new to steel band dies - they first released these dies and machines in 2015 so I'm happy with what I got and I think the machine is great. Like I said it's easy to crank, rolls so smooth and cuts like a dream. I am very happy with my purchase and will definitely keep it and wait for other things to come along. It's certainly a lot heavier than my Bigkick Sizzix trainer and doesn't quite measure up to the huge Big Shot Pro I have, but it's a good weight so it doesn't slide around when I'm working and you know that's about it metal parts. Not that it matters, but this is one of the nicest cars I own. I mean I have a lot of these: 2 embroidery machines, 2 sergers, 2 sewing machines, a cricut maker, 2 Sizzix machines and more and this Spellbinders machine is just so beautiful and I'm definitely just as excited and impressed with it. Cut like I've ever done with my Sizzix machines. They're machines, they have a job, that's important and that's why I buy machines, they speed up my work, they help me make perfect cuts every time so I have consistent consistency, and they tend to be ugly . , they tend to be simple and I agree, but this car really is a breath of fresh air in its looks. It just looks rich, beautiful, shiny and does the job! I've really enjoyed using what little I have so far! That's a great price for a machine like this. I bought it for $74 for an 8.5 inch die, that's a fantastic price! I usually save up a while for a machine that I have in mind that will help me with my job as my small business is slowly growing, but it was so cheap (less than Sizzix Bigkick) that I had to buy it, and I did am glad i did it.
