We spend a lot of time hiking along the South Platte River in Colorado. Outsole that protects your feet from stones and offers great comfort. The only downside for me is that I don't have enough ankle support, but my ankles are my age (60 years old) so I don't think this will be a problem for younger people. I recommend these over other river/water shoes I've had, mainly due to the thicker and more flexible sole. I also wear socks to keep small rocks away. I bought a second pair for myself and a pair for my husband.
