I always burn my hands when baking. When I found these rubber frame covers I figured they were just what I needed to protect my skin from burns. They are soft, flexible and easy to install. The only problem with these lids is that they set off my fire alarm every time I used my oven! I never had this problem before installing these items so I don't know if they caused excessive heat or if my husband was concerned that they gave off toxic fumes. I've never seen smoke, but my smoke detector definitely didn't like them! I took them out of the oven and my smoke alarm went off again. I'm disappointed because I think this product is a good idea and would certainly protect my hands when reaching into the oven but unfortunately I feel I just have to take a risk with the unprotected oven racks. Unfortunately I can't recommend it.
