Inserting the reader locks the pairing button, which is a disadvantage if it doesn't automatically pair after bedtime. Thoughts: Not everyone uses them to connect to a register or square stand. It would be nice if they made the USB connection an option, or a connection that you could remove and put away when not in use. It just looks sloppy with a kickstand and a cable that doesn't go anywhere. I understand its convenience and purpose, but not all of us use it to connect to a registry. We are mobile and need an aesthetically pleasing installation free from unnecessary cables. Additionally, once you place your reader in this dock, the pairing button becomes inaccessible — at least not that easily. Back to mobility again - we let our devices sleep to save electricity. This sometimes results in the app and reader not automatically connecting when the device wakes up - meaning you have to press the pairing button to wake up the reader - meaning you remove the cradle, slide the reader out, the Press the pairing button and put everything back in. It would be nice if they built a pairing button into the dock itself so you don't have to. It doesn't always happen, but it does, so it's worth mentioning for those who might use it the same way we do.
