It calmed my dog down even though he's still barking after a month of use. But not that hard. While she may be a little mesmerized, it doesn't shock her, which I'm very disappointed in as I thought it would be. and it doesn't vibrate or make any noise every time she barks, which is also disappointing. Also, she's been taught that when she has her throat she can bark all she wants, so I don't know what to do about that. Every time she barks I tell her not to bark and the collar will buzz or make a noise but at this point it must really be stinging her if she is barking at all.
