Inaccurate Temperature Readings for Kitchen Utensils and Gadgets

I was dying to try this thermometer before writing a review. In fact, I gave him a few chances. When I first received the device, I wanted to test how accurate it was at measuring the internal temperature of my oven. I set the oven to 300 and placed the probe. The temp didn't even get close to 300. Either my oven isn't working or the device itself. That's no small difference either, I'm talking 50 degrees less than my oven's intended target. The real reason I bought this machine is to smoke meat. As you know, the art of barbecue smoking requires a precise temperature. I was disappointed with the end result of my chest having relied on the speed of this device. Even then I wasn't quite sure whether it was the thermometer itself, maybe I'm just wrong? I decided to make triangles in the oven. My family likes well done meat, I know it's crazy, so I stuck a meat probe into the thickest part of the tee and let it cook in the oven. At 180 degrees the thermometer went out to let me know it was done. After letting it sit for 15 minutes, I was greeted with a perfect medium roast as soon as I sliced it. I've used many thermometers in the past and never had a problem. I know the sensor placement was done correctly, but for some reason this thermometer is not giving me accurate readings. Luckily it hasn't completely ruined many of my dishes as they have been cooking longer, but I cannot rely on this thermometer.
