Bought 2 months ago as a 'spare' charger for my Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, this Pwr+ charger has become my main tablet charger instead. Since I use the Fire quite a bit during the day and read for at least an hour almost every night, I leave the Pwr+ adapter plugged into a hard-to-reach outlet on the back of the bed. The extra-long cable makes it very convenient to charge the tablet when needed (even while reading) - without craning your shoulder looking for a plug. While I can't give scientific measurements, all I can say is that the charger charges the HDX fairly quickly - definitely on par with the charger that came with the HDX (1.8A). The construction of the unit withstands small pulls and twitches and feels solid. I have absolutely nothing to complain about and would definitely recommend the Pwr+ fast charger.
