I've been buying new chargers for my surface pro 4 everywhere and they are so expensive. I decided to go online and just found the charger more reasonable and affordable. I am very happy with my purchase and will shop here again for my other electronics needs.

I bought this charger because I needed a backup two days ago because I needed a backup. It arrived yesterday and just as I was plugging it in, after about an hour of use I looked down and saw that the plastic cover around the power adapter had literally melted. I hope this didn't damage my computer's battery, but it's definitely a useless product.

Updated review: Purchased November 2019 and was initially very pleased as it fit and worked on my Surface Pro 5. Fast forward to January 2020 and problems arose; The battery would not charge my laptop to maintain power so I could only use my laptop when it was plugged in and on February 7th the battery would not charge at all. Finally, spend your money on a new cable from Microsoft or a bestseller for long-term results.

I've been using this charger for 1 month. I would not recommend this charger as it has a critical flaw in its design - it will overheat to the point of melting if used for more than 1-2 hours. This charger works well when used for a short period of time. Unfortunately, this design fails when the charger is left plugged in for hours. But as soon as you charge it for 1 hour or more, it gets very hot and melts. I tested it and was glad it didn't cause a fire/short circuit, but it still bothered…

I would give this charger 5 stars if I wrote a review a month after the first purchase. The reason for my 3 star rating is its durability, or rather lack of it. He worked only 5 months and died. I had to replace it, which resulted in the cost of two replacement chargers almost equaling the cost of buying the original. I think it's a question of quality control and therefore durability. If you're lucky, you'll end up with a durable device, otherwise you'll need a replacement very soon.

Worked perfectly but last night - 2 or 3 weeks ago - the unit overheated and smelled like the plastic itself was so hot it was crumbling. Now I have to keep an eye on that during use to make sure it doesn't start a fire.
