I moved to IL from AZ during the winter and with the damp and cold, my horse developed a cough. The vet wanted to put him on daily Dex and I looked for an alternative treatment. I gave him a bucket of warm water with apple juice (to make sure he'd drink it) 3-4 times a day to keep him flushed and added honey in the morning, and while his symptoms improved, his cough lingered. I tried cough-free based on the reviews and within a couple of weeks his cough was gone. I continue to use it once a day as a prevention until the weather warms and dries.
- So much better than the powder. Easier to dose out and mixes in with the pelleted feed.
- Doesn’t work. That’s really all there is to say.
