Works better than cotton swabs!
I used cotton swabs to clean the straws that came with my favorite large insulated teacup. I never felt they were as pure as they could be. Work. It would be nice if they were a few inches longer. My cup is very tall, so of course the straws are tall. 14 inches would be ideal, but they work well enough.
