I've lived in Spain for 3 years where espresso is surprisingly mild as opposed to espresso in the US which tastes gross and gross. I use Lavazza Espresso with this coffee maker. In Spain, stovetop coffee makers are the norm. Aluminum is the most popular. But I read that aluminum can cause health problems (avoid fizzy drinks in aluminum cans), so I went with this espresso machine with a steel plate. I've never used a spoon to measure coffee and the included spoon gives you the perfect amount. This makes the process sooooo easy and consistent. I prefer to take the espresso maker off the stove before it starts whistling for a smoother taste. This is really good coffee. I drink it black or with some honey and cinnamon. Highly recommended. And it's perfect if you just want to make a cup of coffee.
