Review on πŸ“‘ ANLI A-100 Amateur Radio Dual Band VHF/UHF Gain Base Station Antenna: Enhance Your Signal Strength by Giovanni Glenn

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good multiband antenna - not too ugly on the roof - mine was black

I have a GMRS and radio license and plan to get a hobbyist technician class license in a few weeks, what was the reason for this purchase. I have a Yaesu FT-2900R currently being used as a great VHF scanner while awaiting license review. A local ham who is currently my mentor also helped me with some of the following SWR measurements, interesting results. The SWR was measured with an MFJ-874 meter. The antenna is installed just 1 foot above the roof. Fifty feet of RG-8x cable line. For testing, we used a transmitter power setting of 5W. 2 meters at 146.550 = 1.1 : 170 centimeters at 446.520 = 1.15:1 At my request, we also tested some of my current radios. 1.4:1 This antenna has a fairly wide bandwidth. In addition, it is ideal as a scanner receiving antenna for VHF bands. I needed a low profile antenna that could be used at 2 meters without scaring the neighbors. This one made me happy. Turn on a 2m repeater at 18 miles and get a 5w Q5. Thats all I need. Enjoy the update: I was a licensed amateur radio operator for a while. That's pretty much all you need for 2 meters and 70 centimeters :) K6WGX
