I have tested three different batteries that I have. I have a sealed lead acid battery and two flat AGM plates. The oldest battery is a lead acid battery and I charge all of these batteries every few months. The lead-acid was tested first and fortunately it said it only needed charging (67% operational, 50% charged). After charging this battery, the battery was returned as 'good'. Two more AGMs were purchased within the last year and both have been tested to be 100% operational at different levels of charge. Now I calculate AGM individually. Thanks to this tool I don't have to replace the lead-acid battery yet. It was bought in August 2016 and I'm pretty sure it's older as it's from Japan (on a Nissan). The battery tester is worth a look. Last year my wife's car battery died in the supermarket. Luckily she was able to start over and drove to an auto parts store where she has since been replaced by one of the new AGMs. I don't want that to happen again and I feel like this tester allows me to keep an eye on my battery's health - it's a good charger too. I want to be able to catch a dead battery (if possible) before another family member is stranded again when I'm not around. I understand that batteries can fail at any time, but that might at least warn me in advance.
