Worked fine on my old Toshiba XP Pro laptop which already had the Prolific driver installed from a previous project. My new W7 Pro didn't have the Prolific driver so I chose the option for W7 to find the driver and it found one and installed it and the adapter worked fine again. Both computers and all three adapters were tested with Hyperterm in loopback mode and also in conversation with an Atmel ATtiny45. What I particularly like (besides the low price) is that all the electronics are housed in a USB port. TTL Serial", but then continues incorrectly (quote) "The PL2303TA provides a convenient solution for connecting a full-duplex, asynchronous RS232 serial device to any Universal Serial Bus (USB)-capable host." This serial adapter has nothing to do with RS232!Yes, this adapter can be connected to an RS232 device (e.g. MAX232 or similar) but that is a different usage.
