My truck sounds quieter and I don't like that. Directions are bullshit

I have a 2014 Tacoma, the airbox cover that came with it didn't fit the filter inside so I had to make modifications and use OEM. My truck sounds quieter and I don't like that. Directions are rubbish. Hopefully this will at least improve my mileage per gallon.
