5 inches long but don't be fooled into thinking it's too short because the brass colored socket extends it to 6 inches or more, just be sure to lap the bracket slightly so they don't vibrate freely, that might be a good idea. In the first photo it is mounted on a 1992 GMC Sonoma 4.3 v6. Throttle body, is screwed in from the front. My breather is the one with a cone filter on the end, but it was about the same thickness as my Elderbrock breather. The screw doesn't need to be fully tightened, the wing nut tightens everything. The only problem I had was that the screw could be bent a bit but it worked fine without it, as you can see how tall the screw is, it will adjust a bit higher. Hope that helps!
