I purchased this towel rail after reading the reviews and comparing the negative reviews to other suction cup racks I was considering. I liked that the LUXEAR bar was adjustable, easy to assemble and install, and strong. Given that I only intended to use the rod to hang washcloths in the shower and a number of people have successfully used it to hang heavier items (e.g. baby bath, brushes) I figured I wouldn't have a problem. Even though my shower has smooth, flat and clean tiles, the suction always fails within 1-3 hours on one or both sides, causing the towels and sometimes the entire rod to fall off. I shower weekly, use rubbing alcohol to clean the suction cups and certain tiles they attach to, and have tried applying them with multiple levels of moisture (dry, dampened with water from my finger, and rinsed fresh) to no avail. I don't know what I'm doing wrong (if I'm the problem) and will most likely return the panel if the seller doesn't have any matching offers. I've found that one side of the cup rotates more easily than the other, but I'm not sure if this affects the suction power. 5 Stars! Shortly after I wrote my first review, the seller emailed me. They apologized for the issues I was having and asked for photos of the shower surface I was trying to attach the rod to. After confirming that my tile was suitable for use with the pole, they offered me some additional suggestions (like attaching the pole to the glass shower door) as well as a refund. I've used a bleach-based shower cleaner and read that they can sometimes leave a film, so I decided to do one last experiment. I have cleaned my shower and suction cups again with a detergent that removes mineral residue and stuck rods! It hasn't come loose since unless I make significant effort to remove it when cleaning the shower. It sticks so well I usually leave it in place. This is definitely a product I can recommend.
