It was easy to install and should provide adequate protection from someone (simply) taking your ride while the boat is in storage. While McGard offers the option to order a new key, if you lose yours, don't lose your key! Most boat mechanics hate these locks because people leave their boat and forget the key. Did I mention not to lose the key? Or documents that you can use to order a new key? Make copies of the documents and put them in a conspicuous place and insert the key to the lock with the boat key when giving the boat for repairs.
