This lock serves its purpose to deter thieves. The lock went over to my Alpha I Gen II drive with no issues. The only downside is that for this price you only get a lock that seems a bit more expensive. However, this is known prior to purchase, so I cannot deduct stars for that.

Very well packaged and a perfect fit as expected. Arrived in 2 boxes and came complete with all screws etc. I really like the unit and spent 10 hours on it. Drained the water from the outlet drive as instructed, found very little metal on the drain plug the first time. The second drain was a precaution, but there was almost no sawdust on the block's drain plug. Run another 20 and release again. There is no reason not to expect a long service life from it.

It was easy to install and should provide adequate protection from someone (simply) taking your ride while the boat is in storage. While McGard offers the option to order a new key, if you lose yours, don't lose your key! Most boat mechanics hate these locks because people leave their boat and forget the key.
