I have a Dell Latitude E6530; He has an i7 with an nVidia graphics card. It used to run dual monitor output, one via the HDMI output and the other via the VGA output. When I upgraded to Windows 10, two monitors stopped working; VGA or HDMI output only, not both. Then I got this adapter that enabled HDMI conversion and connected two HDMI monitors. With some bugs in the Win10 nVidia software I now have dual monitor output again. The laptop LCD is disabled for this option (Win7 allowed duplicating it to one of the output monitors), but I can live with this situation. You MUST have a USB with power output for the HDMI adapter to work, as HDMI monitors look for this voltage, which isn't just delivered through the VGA connector. Most laptops under the age of 6 have this option, but not necessarily on all USB ports. So before you buy, look for that USB location on your PC or laptop. This adapter is an inexpensive purchase with low risk and good results.
