Why are the holes drilled off-centre?

Seems strong enough to fit my UTV easily. The problem is that the steel post I received was drilled about 1/4" from the center of one of the mounting holes, causing my sign to hang askew. I tried to fix it by drilling bigger holes. The slope has been corrected slightly, but it's still buggy. ME: If it was some cheap foreign bullshit, I would understand. However, this is allegedly not the case. So that's three stars.

Pros

DURABILITY. Electro-galvanized steel is rust resistant and has excellent weather resistance.

Cons

The packaging is ugly
