This pump was giving me a headache. Trying to generate a constant current is nearly impossible. It's really spastic. One minute it's flowing, the next minute it's being ejected with great force, the next minute the flow isn't even high enough for water to flow through this tabletop fountain, and all you hear is the sucking, spouting noise of reflux. Several times a day I have to adjust it, change the water that splashes over the table, and constantly mop up the mess. I am extremely disappointed. I lost the original pump when I moved and this pump was given to me as a memento of my son who passed away. His photo lay next to him and it got wet. I make sure the water is always above the pump, this has been happening since day one so it doesn't get clogged or anything. Placing a small pebble on top of the well opening helped a little with the backflow problem. That's my decision until I buy a new pump. It may have been damaged in transit. The pump and box were separate when I opened the envelope. Update: I tied a piece of plastic wrap to the top of the pipe, which straightened the bend and fixed the backflow issue. Now it runs stable, no longer reacts sporadically
