works great. very strong, but you can turn it off. I put sand in my tank and it turned into a muddy mess, this pump didn't care about the sand and worked great. Other pumps/filters I've had are very sensitive to fine sand particles getting into the mechanisms (grind loudly or just stop working). This little pump suffered from very muddy sand water but still runs silently and works 100% like new. It's also small so you can get creative and hide it or turn it into a decoration.

This is a very, very small pump for a very tight application. Personally, I use it to water nanotanks (3 gallons and under) for which it works well. The stated flow rate is in practice a complete lie (not surprising), but the competitor's 58 gph consumption figure is probably correct.
