Review on BTECH AMP-U25D Amplifier: Boost Your Handheld Radio Performance with DMR Support, UHF Frequency Range, and Multiple Compatible Brands by Brian Fishel

High quality ham radio booster for HT etc

Works great when connected to one of my several HT's (Baofeng, AnyTone etc). Haven't used it for DMR yet but for analog with 6W -8W input I'm getting 40W-60W with the VHF model and a good 40W UHF (I have both) giving me over 25+ rural mountain miles to remote repeaters and meeting others with 50+ watt cell phones etc. I had a faulty unit which I didn't realize was stuck in shift mode so didn't receive well but when I found it I emailed Revain and received a replacement 2 days later. The only downside is that the bi-directional SMA RF cable that comes with the amp to connect to the HT is a bit flimsy, it's the connection between the cable and the SMA connector. However, another email to BTECH and the only question was where to send the replacement cables. The product quality is great and the customer service is too bad. The only thing I personally recommend is to get a thicker (e.g. 195) 2x SMA-M-HF cable for the HT connection. Plus it's a wonderful investment and I'll definitely buy it again!
