Frankensbox (Moira) fx-800 3D printer is surprisingly quiet - much quieter than expected. Specifications say <50 dB. Ready to put the printer in the garage because of the noise; but in the same room it is almost inaudible. Definitely happy with the sound. The packaging is excellent but the seal is broken. Also, I didn't get a spatula. The manufacturer responded and delivered as quickly as possible. The compactness of this printer fits well between my desktop and laptop/notebook workstations. I really like the tiny size - less than 12 x 12 inches - although the print size is smaller - 150 x 150 x 175 mm. Less standard MK10 nozzle (M7 x 1mm thread, 9mm hex nut, 0.4mm tip), 1.75mm filament and 150mm/s print speed. This is a sleek design with a smaller coil that lays flat on the roof. This is a smaller size (would have preferred a standard 1kg spool). The Frankensbox 3D printer is easy to use and can be auto-leveled in less than a minute. How cool is that? You can't get a much cheaper 3D printer, especially one with a protective case that claims to support PLA, ABS, wood, and PVA; However, the bed doesn't heat up and I've had no luck except for PLA. The flexible magnetic bed has 2 sides and can be turned over (one side has blue masking tape and the other is a glossy black side). The software must be used with a USB cable for material feeding, automatic alignment and progress control. Even after installation, Windows 10 always warns you about allowing this app from an unknown publisher to make changes. You have to click OK each time to run them. Printing with Cura requires creating custom driver settings and splitting the file onto a microSD card for offline printing only. The software is mostly intuitive to use, handling basic settings and size position translation support. There are no layer thickness options - only low, medium, high. There is no user manual or software manual. No support. No luck finding parts. The quick start guide is subtle. Bottom line, a good small FDM Delta 3D printer at an affordable price with auto level, difficult to maintain due to access, manufacturer and community support, and spare parts. Breaking down the hotend is not for beginners or reliability, there is now FlashForge Adventurer 3 which is better for consumers for the same price, easier to maintain and has a lot more information from the community.
