Hello, I am 53 years old and have been in the ham radio, electronics, broadcasting and audio engineering industries all my life. I am very familiar with the basics and details of a mobile setup. I wanted to present my background and experience in the opening sentence of this review. Despite reading some negative reviews before purchasing this setup, I persevered. First I installed the NMO lip mount and coax cable. I then powered this unit from the same power supply that powers my 2m/440cm ham radio and inverter. Hot on the block and a good fuse, fuse on line to install is good, mic connectors are intact. NO ENERGY. When delivered, the radio cannot be switched on at all. I saw this in a few reviews but figured it might have been inexperienced users. Very disappointing Uniden.
