Unfortunately this thing doesn't connect to the power cord like a regular CB radio. This is usually a three-pin connection. It's different, so if you want to use a cigarette lighter socket like a lot of people do, especially with a small compact radio, you can't. You have to program it. It really defeats the purpose of having a small compact radio. I loved this radio so much it was perfect except for this one. I'm returning it and going to another brand.

Replaces my (still working) COBRA 75 WXST radio with this radio. Both my wife and I found the Cobra microphone's very large size and unusual shape difficult to use. I haven't had this radio very long but so far it's working as I've come to expect from Uniden. I put an SWR meter on it and got 1.2:1 on channels 1 and 40 and 1:1 on channel 19 using a Hustler magnetic antenna. I bought the radio in June, unfortunately I was only able to install it last week, installation was easy. The radio does not transmit more than a few meters if it wants, the antenna is adjusted, the problem is that when I press the microphone the display goes blank and then stops working. All I can say is that as much as you love this CB (the concept and looks are amazing) DO NOT BUY IT! After installing the CB, I could hear other people but could not transmit. He made piercing noises, beeps, and other static noises. As soon as I removed the extension cord, the device worked.
