Unfortunately this thing doesn't connect to the power cord like a regular CB radio. This is usually a three-pin connection. It's different, so if you want to use a cigarette lighter socket like a lot of people do, especially with a small compact radio, you can't. You have to program it. It really defeats the purpose of having a small compact radio. I loved this radio so much it was perfect except for this one. I'm returning it and going to another brand.
