Review on Lock’er Down Console Safe: 4 Digit Combo for Secure Car Storage - 2013-2017 Dodge Ram Pickups with CD Player by Victor Pinckney

Does not fit my 2013 Ram 1500 Sport with full console and CD player as advertised and supplied. The problem was that the steel on the driver's side protruded too far forward and didn't taper like it did on the console. I was able to take a cutting wheel and remove about 3/8 inch of metal all over the unit. After that, I removed a screw hole that was drilled at the factory to attach the unit to the console. I drilled a few holes so it's no big deal. Now it sits quite well, but sits a little too high at the back of the device and does not close flush. Also, the block rests on three self-tapping screws screwed into the plastic, that's all! Not very sure. I'll probably pull the console out and secure it with 3/8 bolts and washers so it can't just be pulled out of the console. Also, the combo lock has tiny dials that are very difficult to see in a dark console. For the price I paid for this device I expected more, at least a perfect fit and a better locking combo. Still, it's better than not having a lockable compartment in the truck at all. At least you can lock your gun in a vehicle if you're in a place you can't carry around. I'm sorry to say I wouldn't recommend this to anyone unless they fix their shortcomings and lower the price to a more reasonable price for what you're getting. Still a great idea that could be improved to make it very safe.
