A frustrating support from Waveshare is the poorly designed, flimsy GamePi43 block

pre-assembled directly from Waveshare. Terrible support from Waveshare at a snail's pace. After installing the batteries, I was getting low battery errors on the console. Also, the device never gets fully charged. I emailed support and two days later received a very brief reply asking what batteries I was using. I replied and two days later was told that the light should turn green when fully charged. Apparently! Another week of two days back and forth, a set of replies and then silence. If you decide to buy them, you have been warned about what to expect from them and what the purchase promises you. The device itself is massive, thick, and held in place by flat-head screws. It comes with a screwdriver, but the screws are so small that you can easily delete the head and not screw it in or out. The device lacks analog joysticks, which is a major drawback considering the Raspberry Pi can support consoles like the N64. The crosspiece is weak, slack, and far from responsive. The "Shoulder" or "L/R" buttons are located on the back of the device, which means you can't use your index finger, you have to use your middle, ring, or little finger. Standard Retropie install and on the plus side, many games come out of the box. If you want a retro Raspberry Pi-based console, check out Experimental Pi's RetroBoy DMG. Not only is the console better built because it uses the latest version of the Raspberry Pi, but the support is there too. They have support articles covering everything from troubleshooting to customization.
