This cable/adapter is very well made and looks like it will stand the test of time. This is the first Belkin product I've owned in years, but I'm very pleased with the build quality. It uses a USB power adapter (not included). They're easy enough to find cheap here at Revain. It should output 5 volts at 0.5 amps (or more). After I hooked it up from my MacBook Pro to my 42" 4k monitor and plugged in the power adapter, it was ready to go. The picture quality looks good and the cable is long enough. So far I am very satisfied with the performance of this product. Would recommend if you have multiple devices you want to connect to the same display (although obviously not at the It's very versatile and works with my Mac, my PC and my Xbox.
