Review on ๐Ÿ”Œ Ultimate OBDLink LX OBD2 Bluetooth Scanner: Ideal for Android and Windows Devices by Antonio Cummings

Slow data rate limits the usefulness of this product

I bought this scan tool to analyze 3-5 PIDs on my vehicle at the same time. I used to buy a cheap fake, but I was dissatisfied with the low PID reading speed, especially when monitoring multiple PIDs simultaneously (1 PID / sec). Scantool OBDLink LX is touted as significantly faster - the team at Torque Pro highly recommends it, claiming a data transfer rate of 100 PID/sec. You can imagine my disappointment when, after getting and testing the OBDLink LX, I only got 8 PID/sec. could reach. Monitoring one channel and monitoring 3 PIDs resulted in a speed of 4 PID/sec. While this was a slight improvement over the competition, it was significantly less than ScanTool's claimed "4xโ€ improvement and definitely slower than Torque Pro measured "100 PID/s". I also tried using ScanTools internal application "OBDLinkโ€ but the results were no better than using Torque. I have listed my specs below and would like to improve my rating if ScanTool can provide some assistance. I've looked through the ScanTool forums and FAQs and couldn't find any solutions, information on the PID baud rate, or a good way to contact them directly. If you are from ScanTool reading this, please help! If you're a potential customer, stay away if you need to monitor multiple PIDs > 1 Hz.
